Complete Midwifery Care for Mother and Baby

As your midwife, I provide Christ-centered care for both mother and baby—through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the first six weeks postpartum. My role is to walk alongside you, offering skilled, evidence-based care combined with compassion, prayerful support, and a listening ear.
Birth with me at the Lynden Birth Center, North Whatcom County's newest birth center with a "Romantic Barn" vibe.
Our care together begins with a complimentary consultation, where you and your partner can meet with me, ask questions, and learn about the Midwifery Model of Care.
Prenatal Care
  • Initial visit includes a thorough health and wellness history, physical exam, and lab draws—all done by me in a familiar, comfortable setting.
  • Ongoing prenatal visits are scheduled every 4 weeks until 32 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly (or more often, if needed) until your baby is in your arms.
  • Together we prepare not only for birth, but also for healthy postpartum recovery—discussing practical plans months before baby arrives.
  • A lending library is available with a variety of helpful books, and I also offer the option of purchasing a personally prepared birth or postpartum kit.
Labor, Birth, and Postpartum
  • Professional, sensitive support throughout labor and birth.
  • Immediate postpartum care, with special focus on breastfeeding—helping you and your baby with latch, positioning, and feeding.
  • Postpartum care for mama for 6 weeks.
  • Pelvic care and Pap available at your 6-week visit, if needed.
Newborn Care
  • I can care for your baby for the first 2 weeks postpartum, including a home visit that first week, if desired.
  • Thorough newborn exam and ongoing support.
  • State metabolic screening (PKU test), performed gently while your baby is in your arms.
  • Vitamin K, eye ointment, and other newborn medications available if desired.
  • Screening for congenital heart disorders.
  • High-quality newborn hearing screening, offered with the expertise of my background as an audiologist.

Empowered Birth After Cesarean

Renewed Confidence, Restored Peace
Have you had a previous cesarean birth? While VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) are currently not permitted at birth centers in WA, many women still long for the gentle, one-on-one care of a midwife during pregnancy and postpartum.
In EBAC care, Empowered Birth After Cesarean, we take time to reflect on your previous birth—honoring what was meaningful, acknowledging what was hard, and prayerfully preparing for what you hope will be different this time. My heart is to walk with you as you find your voice, step into new strength, and experience the peace that comes from knowing God is with you.
With EBAC, you’ll receive the same thorough prenatal and postpartum care as my full midwifery package, and your birth happens at the hospital. At 36 weeks (or earlier if needed), your care transitions to your chosen birth provider, and I continue to support you and your baby through the sacred early weeks after birth.

Nurturing Postpartum Care

The weeks after birth are a sacred time of healing, bonding, and discovering new rhythms as a family. Whether you give birth at home, in a birth center, or in a hospital, midwifery care in the postpartum period can bring comfort, reassurance, and peace.
I offer six weeks of postpartum care for mothers and two weeks for newborns—providing not only the standard screenings and physical care, but also the attentive, unhurried support of a midwife who comes alongside you in this tender season. Appointments are typically an hour long and take place at the peaceful Lynden Birth Center, with in-home visits during the first week if needed.
Postpartum-focused care may include:
  • One or two prenatal visits to prepare your vision for postpartum care
  • In-home breastfeeding support during the first week—latch guidance, feeding, and baby-wearing help
  • Newborn screenings: metabolic, hearing, and congenital heart disorder checks
  • Physical recovery support and care for both mother and baby
  • Emotional guidance and encouragement for mothers and families
  • Pelvic care and Pap testing at six weeks, if desired
My prayer is that every mother feels supported, nourished, and strengthened during these early weeks, with space to bond deeply with her baby and rest in God’s sustaining love.

Benkung Belly Binding Service + Wrap

Benkung Belly Binding is a Malasian practice of tightly wrapping the mother's belly in the early days of postpartum. This practice helps bring muscles back together that have separated, expels excess gas, and the tight wrapping feels good - feels like the mother is held and complete. Does not interfere with breastfeeding. This service is easily added on to your Postpartum care, and includes a belly bind to keep. I'll help you put the wrap on the first time or two, and also help your sweetheart learn how to offer this kindness to you, too.
